PhD Student

Tumelo Sereo is a PhD student at SACEMA. His PhD research focuses on developing an HIV compartmental model to assess the impact of Dolutegravir (DTG) and other HIV interventions in rural South Africa, specifically in KwaZulu-Natal. His previous work involved analysing infectious disease outbreaks in real time, including the assessment of a measles outbreak in South Africa and evaluating the potential magnitude of a poliovirus outbreak in Southern Africa. Tumelo holds an MSc in Applied Mathematics, with a thesis entitled: Population-level consideration for the treatment of lethal diseases in resource-limited settings.
