Kimberley Maringa

PhD Student

Kimberley completed her MSc Biostatistics degree at the division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Stellenbosch university. Her research project focuses on utilising advanced causal inference statistical models to ascertain modifiable risk factors linked to initiating antenatal care services in South Africa. For the analysis component, Kimberley worked on a cervical cancer project at SACEMA under the supervision of Dr Cari van Schalkwyk, using specialised survival analysis techniques.

With a specialised educational background in BSocSci (Cum laude) and BSc(Hons) Epidemiology and Biostatistics (Cum laude), she seeks to apply advanced biostatistical techniques to enhance public health care interventions and policies within the African continent, targeting disadvantaged communities.

Kimberley is currently registered for her PhD at Stellenbosch University under the supervision of Dr Cari van Schalkwyk (SACEMA), Dr Mazvita Munchengeti (National Cancer Registry, NHLS) and Dr Charlotte Sriruttan-Nel (Centre for Zoonotic and parasitic disease, NHLS).
