Comfort Jones is currently pursuing an MSc Research Fellowship (full scholarship) in Epidemiological Modelling at SACEMA, where her thesis investigates the benefits of adding wastewater surveillance in monitoring hepatitis E.
Her academic journey began with a BSc in Mathematics Science from the University of Uyo, Nigeria, where she graduated with First Class Honours. She was awarded a full scholarship to further her studies at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS-SA), earning an MSc in Mathematical Sciences with distinction, and her Master’s thesis explored the design and analysis of Cluster Randomized Trials.
She is eager to utilize mathematical modelling techniques to address the challenges in infectious disease in Africa.
