Robert Reiner, PhD
Robert C. Reiner, Jr. is a disease ecologist and an associate professor, department of Health Metrics Sciences, University of Washington's Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME). Dr. Reiner combines his extensive background in applied mathematics, statistics, and probability with over a decade of work in mathematical ecology, epidemiology and entomology to model infectious diseases. Dr. Reiner has a diverse array of interests, most concerning the role and drivers of spatio-temporal variation in infectious disease transmission dynamics. Currently, Dr. Reiner’s work focuses on the COVID pandemic, where he is a lead developer for the IHME COVID-19 model as well as the faculty lead for the IHME COVID-19 development team.
