Wim is a medical doctor and epidemiologist, he has joint research appointment at the International Centre for Reproductive Health at Ghent University in Belgium, and the South African Centre for Epidemiological Modelling and Analysis at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. He is passionate about applied statistics and epidemiology related to the HIV epidemics in sub-Saharan Africa.
