On Women’s Day, we celebrate the women who make our research possible. They work behind the scenes to keep things running — shaping strategy, securing funding, building skills, and supporting teams.

Our research support team works across operations, grants, training, and admin. They bring focus, care, and quiet leadership to every aspect of their work.

Beryl Beeka – Administrative Officer

Beryl keeps our daily operations on track. She coordinates logistics, financial administration and documentation, handling our internal processes with reliability, calm and care.

Faikah Bruce – Training Coordinator

Faikah manages the planning and delivery of academic training programmes, creating a nurturing environment for learning and mentorship for emerging researchers, through strong systems refined over the years.

Shaan Daniels – General Assistant

Shaan provides practical support across the team, ensuring workspaces are prepared, events run smoothly, and daily operations function efficiently. Her adaptability and work ethic are deeply valued.

Yuri Munsamy – Science Officer

Yuri helps shape strong funding proposals, providing expert guidance on grant development and funding strategy. Her work ensures that strong research ideas are matched with the resources they need to succeed.

Lynnemore Scheepers – Deputy Director: Operations

Lynnemore leads on operational and project strategy, aligning systems, people, and resources to support SACEMA’s research goals. Her leadership supports excellence across programmes and partnerships.
