9-11 May 2012. (Stellenbosch) Cross-sectional incidence estimation training held in South Africa on behalf of the World Health Organisation. Course completed.
On 9-11 May 2012, SACEMA hosted a course titled ‘Estimating HIV Incidence from Cross-Sectional Data on Recent Infection’, in response to a request from the World Health Organisation (WHO). A diverse group of participants, primarily epidemiologists and programme officers from national Departments of Health and the Centres of Disease of Control and Prevention (CDC), from Botswana, Cameroon, Kenya, Malawi, South Africa, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Switzerland, the USA and UK, attended the course held in Stellenbosch. Attendees were introduced to the theory underlying cross-sectional incidence estimation, and provided with datasets and analysis tools for hands-on training.
